Read This On Your Bad Week

I found a bunch of photos that I took with my film camera when my friends and I got stranded in Dallas the first time we ever went there. They looked cool with a nice grainy texture to them, and figured the visual effects of gluing them onto the cover of this impromptu book I made would motivate me to fill them with all sorts of productive ideas.

Mirrors and planes always play a huge role in lots of my writing. Everything is a self-portrait, and life is always in motion. I had a moment last week looking in the mirror, feverish, coming off of two weeks of fasting for Ramadan with fatigue so intense my eyes bulged out of their sockets and my cheeks began to flatten. Endless minutes went by as I ate a whole cauldron of soup without my body responding-no urge to pee, no bloating…
